Maj Gen (Dr) RK Raina, Sena Medal, has an illustrious military and academic career spanning over four decades. With an academic bent of mind, he has tenanted instructional appointment in Indian Training Team Bhutan, besides being Instructor as well as Head of Faculty in College of Defence Management. His tenure of Managing Director Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) from 2019 to 2023, coincided with implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, where he spearheaded five programmes of ‘Shresth aur Shaksham Bharat’ including Digitalisation, Inclusive Education, Gifted Program, Teachers’ Training and Vidyanjali Project. He has the valuable experience of college management, in tune with guidelines of regulatory bodies of higher education, having laid down the road map for transforming all 12 AWES run colleges into Multidisciplinary Higher Education Institutes (MHEI). He has an excellent knowledge of regional & global dynamics, with a doctorate in Strategic Management. He has also been UN Military Observer in Sierra Leone during the defining period of 1999-2000. With an illustrious background, Maj Gen Raina has embarked on the journey to revolutionise education and is currently associated with various education boards, government bodies, non-government organisations, education industry and is a regular speaker on education matters.
